Basware Connect, Basware’s own event concept, invites finance and procurement professionals under one roof to strengthen relationships with one another, deepen expertise and draw inspiration from this annual two-day seminar.

Basware Connect 2016 took place at the brand new Clarion Jätkäsaari hotel, only a week after its grand opening. The participants were given a choice of a two-day, one-day or half-day event with or without accommodation. The first day’s programme consisted of an opening session, more in-depth parallel sessions, a closing session and a dinner at which the guests were entertained by Antti Tuisku, a Finnish pop icon. Friday offered an insightful programme and a closing session combined with aivobic (‘brainbic’) fitness for brains.

Participants were engaged throughout the year with Antti Tuisku’s e-greeting and some more factual content. The themes for 2016 included positive success and insight, promoted by personalities such as Antti Tuisku and André Noël Chaker, who hosted the event. A positive customer experience by the more than 330 customers and prospects was assured by almost 100 Basware employees.

The event got more social media coverage than any of the earlier Basware Connects and was one of the most popular hashtags on Twitter. Gerd Leonhard, a futurist and our key note speaker, was interviewed by numerous local media, and, altogether, seven different media ran a story of the interview with references to Basware Connect.
